I know people use canthaxanthin to keep the orange colour bellies in Orientalis but was thinking do people use canthaxanthin or something else to keep the bellies of variegata Yellow any info on this would be great.

My guess is that the yellow in variegata is not caused by carotenes, but by pteridines, in which case they should be produced by the animal, so diet is not a factor. It could also be flavonoids which are present in many different foods. In my experience, bloodworms seem to have a decent amount of flavonoids and build up a nice deep yellow colour...maybe that is of help.

Hi , I dont feed anything special to my Yellow Bellies and they have a good colour.
