At first I thought the worms in my tank were just Detritus worms but they are darker and I am finding them on my plants. Could they be eating/killing my eggs?

First, to be sure of the type of worm, it's difficult without photos.
Leeches and planarias can be interested in amphibian eggs, especially if the jelly coat is thin.
In Europe, some leeches will eat eggs, other wont. All planarias seemingly can feed on eggs.
Hydras are also commonly introduced with wild caught daphnias or with plants, but they are not dangerous for eggs.

You've got "planaria traps", which seem to work great. Personally I don't mind planaria. I think I've experienced only two or three species. None of them delivered an explosion in numbers, I could still harvest eggs and they seem to disappear after a while. I must say that I keep pond and ramshorn snails in all of my tanks, so that could be a reason. There are different stories though.

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

sorry I am having a hard time trying to upload the pictures- I have them saved on my hard drive... any suggestions-the prompts here are not allowing for downloads that way as far as I can tell. Thanks
