I have 4 Cynops pyrrhogaster. I feed them red worms. Frozen.
The first two I bought are not eating and are very lethargic hardly leaving their rock cave.
The other two - bought in a different time - look like fat little piggies compared to the first two ones and are active.

Today I put the 2 skeenies ones in an aquarium and I will monitor them closely.
My point is: will they eat this?

...worms used as bait.

Give me your two cents please.

Lots of people feed worms to newts and salamanders, but they will not eat the worms whole, its just physically impossible. Your best bet would be to chop up worm and put it on a toothpick, then use the toothpick to wiggle it in front of the newt. Look in the feeders section of the forum as well for other feeder ideas.

Best of Luck,
Alex

I will move this post to the Newt Help section.
