Hi friends,
today I noticed some of my T.verrucosus babies r missing 1 of their front legs. I guessed they r "nib" by their brothers n sisters?? Will they regenerate?? Currently they r abt 2cm long.

Thanks

if i can understand your shorthand-these guys are about 2cm long-so they are very young, i am guessing they dont have back legs yet. adult salamanders can regenerate limbs so can larval ones. if they have been bitten off by others then you will want to thin out the animals so there is less agression-provide more space to them and put in plants to help them. you will need to separate the ones with the missing legs because even though they will grow back it will take them longer to grow than the others-so they will be stunted and smaller until they regenerate and will thus be more picked on.

Really a big thank you. I'm really afraid of the limbs r not able to grow back.

Yup, they r 2cm long n dun have back legs yet.

Oke, will thin out the number of babies n put them in more containers.

Thanks again.

My advice would be to seperate the injured ones and than a second separation between smaller and larger larves. 0.5cm or more is a gigantic difference at this stage. (for comparison that would be a 1.50m human and a 2.00m tall guy)

good luck

oke thanks. Just like me n my wife
