Will my Necturus punctatus eat ...?

I'm curious on whether or not my Dwarf Waterdog will eat springtails. It generally stays at the bottom of the tank and I'm unsure if it would venture to the top to eat the critters. Any advice on easily accessible live foods to feed it?

I have kept waterdogs for a couple years now and have never seen them rise to the surface to feed. They also seem to like larger, smellier food items such as live blackworms or pieces of cut earthworms. I haven't tried frozen foods yet, but I bet they could be tempted to eat bloodworms and mysis shrimp.

Ok, I looked closely at the sal to see that it has five toes on its hind feet, which means its not a N. Punctatus. I think it is a large P. Ruber juvenile. Would the diet be the same? I tried feeding it minnow but so far it hasnt taken any.
