Who can be housed with Fire-Belly Newts?

I have two little fire-belly newts that just share a tank with some snails. They did have fish at one time, but I moved them to a new tank. Is there anything I can safely house with my newts like maybe a different species of newts?

i have kept ghost shrimp with newts successfully but i think think any other species can be housed with them and should be avoided

You should never mix amphibians of any sort. Instead as tankmates you can buy yourself a colony of shrimp. Ghost shrimp and red cherry shrimp are interesting to observe in the tank, and also provide great cleaning services! If you have a large tank, you can try white cloud mountain minnows. Mixing in fish isn't recommended, but I kept some with mine for sometime without any problems. Just be aware of your stocking capacity!
