I'm hoping someone can help me identify what this white cloudy stuff in my axolotl tank is? It's gathering underneath and on top of all of my ornaments/plants and when the water moves a fair bit makes the water really murky. My axolotl seems to be coping okay but I want to get rid of it! I'll try and post some pics - they're not the best quality though!

Thanks in advance
Sophie

I can't really tell what I'm looking at in the picture, but my best guess would be either algae or fungus. It's harmless as long as you don't have any ammonia spikes, but if a spike happens the fungus could infest the axolotl. I would just siphon up any excess food, poo, or any of the cloudy stuff you can suck up.

Thanks! I've been doing regular water changes and it seems to be getting a bit better. I've checked my water and the levels are okay so I'm doing exactly what you said!

Thanks so much for your help! :)
