Greetings Everybody!
First time poster here. I'll get straight to it. I've been using an aquarium chiller for the past three years. During the first two years I would keep it running during the summer, and then blow it out and store it for the winter. During the end of the second year I noticed the clear vinyl tubing was accumulating black and white spotted gunk that I couldn't really do much about. Before I installed it again I ran hot water and white vinegar from a bucket into and out of the chiller in order to kill off any bacteria or gunk that may have been residing from prior usage. Lo and Behold one week after setting the chiller up, the white bacteria gunk has reared its ugly head again, and cleaning out the filters winds up clouding up the water. Opening up the chiller and tinkering around with it is something that I'm not capable of.
If anybody has any additional insight into what I can do to start getting rid of this junk, I would greatly appreciate it. My Axy isn't reacting in any odd ways except perhaps eating less than he used to, but he exhibited that behavior even without the chiller set up. I'll eventually get a photo or two of him up on here once I get settled in.
Thank You!
