This larvae was found in a little gardenpond , just couldn't resist making the shot

This are not albinos - the eyes are black ;-)

Henk - very nice pictures! Did you take the larvae home?
 
No but the larvae has been kept with another belgian salamander keeper. Currently there are 2 such larvae in fact and they want to try and see if they can rear then and later eventually breed them... Indeed they are not albino but rather white.

I will follow the development from a distance .. I don't have time to do this as well, since it looks like I will have a very good Hynobius year.
 
This looks like a leucistic larva... I myself have had such one a few years ago. This mutation in my case was in combination with neoteny, this animal hasn't metamorphosed and reached nearly adult's size but unfortunately it has died after ca. 2 years...
