Question: Where to get a chiller?

So ... Long term I am not sure if I will be keeping my lotls in a 20 long or a 40 long but I know I most likely need a chiller as I have some trouble keeping down tank temps.

Where is a reputable place to buy one? And what should I expect to pay?

I have done some research on my own but the price has a huge range.

Either try asking around in local aquarium stores for prices, or try to find a second hand one online.

I bought mine second hand, it's running smoothly.

I have never seen anyone selling them secondhand and none of the local shops sell chillers

I bought mine on ebay, it's a discontinued model but runs great. If you figure out what horsepower you need, you can search that on ebay and just look for anything that isn't new out of China. I got lucky with a local seller so we were able to meet up. Mine is 1/15 hp and it chills 30-35 gal about 10 degrees with no problem at all.

I have a 20 long with one lotl ... I really only need to drop it about 5 degrees.
