Where to buy daphnia

Hello all,

Can anyone recommend a place for me to get daphnia? I would ideally like a reasonable price, and a good success rate.

I'm hatching axolotl eggs and I know they should be fine for a while with baby brine shrimp but I heard that they like daphnia too.

I've never had daphnia, so I'm just trying to figure out where would be the best place to get some and how to ensure that I get a good culture going.

I really appreciate any help or guidance you may be able to offer.

maybe try your local pond? this time of year they are thriving.

I agree. If you're not hatching tons, you can get a good culture going with local daphnia. If that fails you, I like Dallas Discus. Or you can place an ad on here; there are a few folks that sell cultures.
