On this page Axolotls - Biology it says axolotls have basic lungs, but on the diagram there is no lungs shown.

Where are the lungs on the axolotl and when do they develop?

some of my hatchlings goto the surface and take air and then blow a bubble, so they seem to be breathing air... they are 20 days old.

The lungs first develop around the time that the rear-legs develop which is at around the 30mm mark, give or take. The rear-leg buds can be hard to see until the start to stick out a bit but that's a bit after they start to develop. So it's quite possible that your little guys are developing/have developed their lungs.

Just a guess but my guys livers are always lower down than it is on the diagram, sort of half way down their sides but only on their left sides so it wouldn't surprise me if their lungs are actually where the liver is on that picture and they have a setup not unlike ours with the heart in the middle.
