When to feed tiger sallies?

Hello, I just got 5 tigers that are relatively young (although they have morphed, they are only about 5" long so far) and so far healthy. I built them a terrarium with soil substrate and a little pan of water sunk into one side. My question is: is it ok for me to just feed them their earthworms when they emerge from under the log they hide in, because I hate to disturb their hideout every time it is "dinner time". It has been 3 days since their last meal, although 2 of the 5 got fed today because one likes to sit in the water and another one came out from under the log and ate. Will the rest come out and forage sooner or later? Thanks for any advice!

maybye u could give them food that doesnt hide in the substrate?

Well, that's the weird thing, I never leave the worms in the substrate, I hold them in front of their faces.....today I lifted the log and none of them would eat---they are not aggressive like I am used to, although they seem healthy otherwise.

i meant put some food that moves around the tank for them to eat.

Thank you, I bought some crickets and they seem to be disappearing, heh heh, so I think that is the ticket!! Only one sally isn't eating for some reason but maybe he will come around.

You could feed then fuzzy pinky mice too. I know, a little too gruesome for some, but probably a better bank for your buck if you can get them locally at a fair price. I maintained some adults for a few years of frozen/thawed fuzzies, they ate them out of my hand. You just have to make sure you don't over feed them, they can quickly become obese.

leave the salamander thats not eating. probbably stressed. one of my fire bellys are like that.

Thanks, Russ and Rancidevilpingu---I will leave the stressed guy alone (in fact, I moved him and the other 2 non-aggressive guys to another tank). Russ, can I put pinky mice in the terrarium and just leave them to be eaten at the salamanders' leisure, since the shy ones seem to be reticent to take food from my hand?

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
