When do leucistic turn white?

My two leucistic axolotls laid eggs. Well, Ophelia did they laying. Hamlet mostly just ate them.

I know only albinos lay white eggs, but when to my little black commas turn white, if they are leucistic? And is leucistic a dominant, or recessive? Will they all be white, or will I get some wildtypes?

I think its recessive...they may all be white but I'm interested to see if you get wild types too...i have all 4 leucistic

Ok, if its recessive they'll all be white, because each parent shows the trait, so they wouldn't have any recessive wildtype.

If you have two leucistic parents, and they're not recessive for albino, then all your babies will be leucistic. If your parents are both recessive for albino, some of your offspring will be albino as well.

Wildtype is dominant, leucistic is recessive.

ok, perfect. So at what point in development do my leucistic babies stop being black commas, and turn into white -Insert developmental stage here-

When they first hatch, they look like pale wildtypes. As they grow, the brown stays on the head/back, and the body will be white.

i know what it means for it to be recessive but i only thought it may have been....i wanst sure but if it is recessive then they will all be white

could you get other colors from leucistics? i dont know what the parents were like for mine but some have that shine to their eyes and one has golden flecks in his skin

You could also get all varieties of albinos, except golden albino (which has a wildtype color distribution, but lacks the melanophores to make it dark), as long as the parents are both recessive for those genes.
