I have 2 axolotls I want to move into a 30 gal and it has sand and they're outgrowing their current 10 gallon. They're both 3 1/2 in long and their back legs are pretty well developed and they have all toes on all legs and eat frozen blood worms fine off the ground. I would have a dish I put the worms In just to try and avoid them eating sand even though I know it's impossible. But just wondering if they're safe to put in sand? Should I wait till they're 4 in? Thanks in advance xox

People say around 6 inches or more but for feeding use a deep bowl or dish so when the axolotls go in the dish, bloodworms stay in but for putting them in use a turkey baster to put in dish.

I got mine a month ago, at 4 inches and 5 months and I immediately put them on sand :)

Oh thank you! I'm trying to get them in the tank at soon as possible :)
