What to feed Notophthalmus viridescens new metamorph/eft phase

I have a Notophthalmus viridescens originally taken from a pond in Michigan, USA. What would you feel a newly metamorphosed eft newt of this species? I have fed new Ambystoma metamorphs small crickets, but I think even small crickets might be too big for a newly formed eft. (The subspecies is N. viridescens lousianensis, Midland Newt.)



Any ideas?
