To keep a couple fire bellied newts whats the recommended amount of space and does it have to have a water zone as well?
I was planing to keep about 4 or 5 in an aquarium.
Is this okay?

Are these Chinese firebellies? It's important to make sure they aren't one of the larger species that the pet shops sometimes label as "firebellies". See:

The smallest tank for them would be a 10-gallon. A larger tank would be nicer, of course. Most people prefer to keep them aquatic with an island, but they could be kept in a terrarium with a water dish if you prefer that.

thanks,Yup it's a chinese firebellied
How many could i keep in a 10 gallon???

I wouldn't recommend more than about 4 of them in a 10-gallon. Be sure the actual water volume in the setup is over 5 gallons.

Okay, .... my friend keeps his with no land fully aquatic since when he had land and a palce where they could be out of the water they would never eat and go into the water....
