Well! A better pic would help a lot! However I think that is a male, but I'm not sure!

it's hard to tell on from a picture like this. You can see it most times on the tail. Males have a white sheen or a few spots on their tails

If I had to just go on that one picture then I would GUESS it's a male. The cloaca looks pretty large.

Ok I am confused. Are you asking what type of newt it is like the title mentions or what sex the newt is like in your other thread? Pachytriton labiatus is the type of newt.
