My axolotl is currently just over 7 months old now and the toe tips are a dark brownish nearly Black colour. I was trying to determine what gender it is or if I still need to wait a bit longer here are some pictures šŸ˜

Right now I would guess female based on the little bump at the cloaca. But it is still a bit early to tell. We thought we had two females (in spite of the fact that the smaller one was longer and more slender) because their toes had darkened and their cloaca looked the same. Then three months or so later, the long slender one was VERY clearly male. His cloaca area is very pronounced and it is swollen all around, not just a bump below the tail. So you may have to wait a bit more to know for sure šŸ˜‰
