I found these 3 items in the bottom of the Axie tank.
Semi solid jelly blobs.

I have no snails, have not done anything different apart from change over to a new external filter.

I have a spray bar fixture on, and point it at the wall. Will actually try to further soften the flow with filter material or wrap a long moss plant round it.

As far as I know...both females!

I am equally as curious. I have no idea- perhaps regurgitated mucus or something of the sort?

Edit: could it be a spermatophore? Are you sure they are both females? I don’t breed axolotls, though many on here do, and many could try sexing them for you if you aren’t sure.

Funnily enough I've had mixed feedback from Facebook groups - 60% say spermatophore...40% say not, and could be unfertilised eggs.

I have 2 axolotls, of different ages ..one is 3yr and looks Def female. The other is a young Golden of 1yr...and looks female. But I could be proven wrong??

Hey everyone, just want a little advice. Its 55 - 60 celcius in my Salamanders tank. Hes curled up and tyring ti bury himself, Im assuming hes too cold. I was wondering if he would benefit from a heated rock cave (since he LOVES his cave) that I could set on low? I NEVER see him curled up and trying to bury himself unless his tank sits at 63 degrees celcius or lower. So I am assuming hes a little uncomfortable.

He also seems a little sluggish, again, assuming hes cold. Having heating trouble with the new house right now. What do we think? Was thinking of grabbing this for him since its got very low, medium, and higher medium heat settings that exude heat downward inside the rock cave but ALSO exudes it UPWARDS outside of the rock cave, effectively keeping the tank itself a little warm. Seems like it miiiight be a little small for him though, my guy is about 7 inches from tip of his nose tothe tip of his tail.
