Question: What kind's of live food shouldn't an axolotl eat?

Hi Kinkyoto,
No fishes should not be fed to axolotls as they can pass parasites to your axolotl.
Ive heard of people feeding "feeder guppies" and in turn it has made their axolotl very sick.
As with any live food can carry a risk of infection but the best live food you could feed your axolotl would be Earthworms,Bloodworms & if you had baby axolotls Brine shrimp & daphina.

You can feed fish if you like. You just have to quarentine them for 20-30days beforehand to make sure no disease is present. Although only as an absolute treat, not a staple.

As Blaze wrote, feeder fish (guppies, mountain minnows, cardinal fish) are fine as long as you follow a strict quarantine before giving them to your axolotls.
Neons are not suitable for an axolotl tank, though, because as tropical fish, they require much warmer temps than the axolotl. They would be suffering in the cold axolotl tank, and it might take awhile for a lazy axolot to get around to eating the fish. Even if the fish is "just food", it is still a living creature and should not be subjected to torture before death. The fish I mentioned above are good, though, particularly guppies as guppies are prolific breeders and soon you will have a constant supply of them.

i do have a separate quarantine tank for feeder fish =]
and as for a staple diet, i've been giving my axolotl
carnivore pellets, blood worms.
and as soon as i find earthworms, i'll give those too.
do stores readily carry earthworms?
i've been trying to figure out where would they be sold because
the stores i go to, only carry tubefx

Most pet shops do not sell earthworms. You buy they in the fishing dept at Walmart (look for a little refrigerator with live bait), or in bait shops or gas stations. Or dig them up from the ground, if you have access to a pesticide-free area.
