I just bought this little guy from my local fish store and they didn't know what kind he was. The only thing they told me I'd that he eats blood worms and is fully aquatic. What else will he eat?

Hi, welcome to the site. :)
Your pictures aren't showing for some reason, but I would guess he's one of a number of species that the pet trade calls 'firebellies', the link should help you tell which kind.
Bloodworms are too low in calcium to be fed all the time, you should base his diet on nightcrawlers or if he'll eat them, high quality amphibian pellets along with the bloodworms and other stuff as a treat from time to time.

Would black worms be fine or would they need to be nightcrawlers? I have a ton of black worms for my stingray so it would be very convenient if he would also like black worms.

He is a Chinese warty newt. Blackworms are way better than bloodworms, but nightcrawlers or pellets are the healthiest thing for him. He looks very thin in the picture so nightcrawlers are best for building his bodyweight back up.
