Just want to know what kind of filter are you using?
I want to get some idea for my new 33 gallons tank (36 x 12 x 18)
Currently having 10 gallons for 2 axos, too small
Thanks

I use a submersible filter hidden behind some driftwood, but after realizing how difficult it is to access the filter for routine maintenance, I am looking into a canister filter. I have heard good things about several of the canisters out in the market, and there are plenty made for a tank your size. Canister filters are the most efficient, easiest to care for, and def a lot less of a hassle than other types. The availability of spray bars will also reduce the flow in your tank as opposed to the flow a HOT or other types of filters can produce.

I have always used external canister filters. In my next tanks, though, I will use a Mattenfilter.

This kind of filter seems a really good idea Eva, Easy to set up and efficient with little maintenance, what more could you ask for?

Hi ive had no problems using 2 hang on back filters one at each end these have some advantages if your tank suits.

1) By getting two smaller ones you have a back up if one fails and you spread the water displacement evenly across the whole tank.

2) I clean 1 each month therefore reducing risk of killing elements in the nitrogen cycle.

3) Water input and output is above axies level.

4) If possible hang output over the glass supports for lid (as long as your no using lid) this allows water to drip slowly back into tank as not to disturb axies.

5) These type of filter mostly can have flow rate adjusted to suit.

6) Cheap

Hope this helps
