What just happened?!

My normally secretive N. Viridescens came out today, and she did the strangest thing. She went towards the water's surface, then just froze. She looked paralyzed/ Her eyes were closed and her throat bulging out. She looked as if she had bloat. Now she's just being normal, eating brine shrimp as always. What just happened to my poor Noto?!

I've seen my efts do that sometimes. In a frozen state, eyes closed, with their throat bulged out. First time it happened I thought the worst however after a light touch on the tail they "wake up" and resume normal activity.

Now I just ignore it. <shrug>

Most likely the animal is going to shed.

I did find a new skin on one of the plants. Should I worry?

Nah i wouldn't worry, both of mine do that when they're trying to start shedding, it looks concerning but it something i just ignore now.

I think the bulging of the throat and such may be to try to loosen the skin.
