What kind of Salamander is this?

Well seeing as you live in australia, and all salamanders except for axolotls are illegal there, I'ld say it was a morphed axolotl.

Sorry mate they arent illegal you need a license.

I purchased this one when it was about 3 months old.

i'm sure that australians aren't allowed to keep any non native amphibians other than axolotls. there are a ferw exeptions for zoos however

Secondo me è un A.tigrinum, magari di una sottospecie particolare ma tigrinum.
E il muso mi dà la conferma perchè io ho allevato anni fa un esemplare identico ma più verdognolo.

Sorry, speaking in English, well I said that I think is a tigrinum, maybe a particular morph but tigrinum. the snout confirm me that is a tigrinum because years a go I had keep a similar salamanders which were tigrinum but with a dark green.

One of the items a lot of people are not aware of is that there were tigers bred into axolotls a long time ago (the original albino line). This influx of genes can cause metamorphed axolotls to look somewhat like tigers.
The animal above looks like a metamorphed axolotl.
