Question: What is this substance? [see pic]

My cycling newt tank has a transparent slimy substance growing on literally everything right now. The tank is about 10 days old, and I'm wondering if it has to do with the cycling itself, and will go away on its own, or if there's a bigger issue. The tank has a bare bottom, no filter (or circulation), several types of aquatic plant (amazon sword, elodea, java moss), fluorescent lighting, and a piece of cork bark floating on the surface.

I've searched the forums for "slime," and am not finding any answers.

To me it just looks like mold but I don't know if that would cover everything. I just know I've had this problem with adding certain plant bulbs. All I did was throw away the moldy bulbs and everything was okay.
Maybe include additional pictures of other things covered in this slime.

Have you done a water change in the 10 days of cycling? Is there anything rotting in the tank?
Dead plants?

This could have something to do with no water circulation. Sometimes things go stagnant and algae and mold go crazy. Especially if you're leaving your lights on too long.
I dunno, I'm sure someone else might have seen this before haha.

It's slime mold (from the mopani wood) which is harmless and will go away in a few weeks. If you have any snails or shrimp you could add them to the tank, as they love to eat this stuff!

I have this on my mopani and wondered if it was ever going to clear!glad to know it will!
