What is the Wahlstad method?

Hi everyone,

So I am sure I will get criticized for this but what the heck is the Wahlstad method?
I have been hearing it everywhere and I have no idea what it is/means!
What ever it is people seem to like it a lot because there always saying they like that method or I'm for the Wahlstad method or something like that. Please relieve me of my confusion! Is it a book? A guys teachings on keeping Caudate? I just don't know. :confused:.
 
What is the forum site search? I just don't know. And I don't know how to use Google search either. Someone please help me!

And the site search only has one good page of info on it.
And Bing didn't really have good info that I could see, I just thought that you more experienced keepers could give some more specific info.
 
You should ask Google about "Walstad tanks" (not wahlstad) or just buy the book "Ecology of planted aquarium". I personally use this method for years and i love it. I'm just as lazy to explain it in a long post as you are lazy about searching internet for it ;)

I use the walstad method in two of my tanks!!^_^ I love it. Its essentially organic potting soil under sand, it helps plants grow and gives a more natural effect:)

    Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
