Hey I just bought some daphnia from Seapets and there seems to be something else in there with them, there isn't that many but would still like to know what they are in case they end up in with my fry, if anyone can help that would be great!
They are thin, just over a centimetre long and they are completely see through. They have two black dots for eyes, another two black dashes behind the "head" and another two black dashes toward the end of their tail. Also they mostly float around with their bodies rigid and very straights but occasionally their body contorts, as if they fold themselves in half, to move forward.
I don't know if that's a very good description but if anyone has a clue as to whether they are harmful or not I would be very grateful
thanks

It sounds a little bit like Cyclops. Are you sure it has two eyes, not one?

Try going to Google Images and query:
zooplankton
scuds

Do they look like this?

If yes then it's probably a white mosquito larva (and axies like them too!)

yer, cool, it does look like that. I hope they don't turn into mosquitoes :( thankyou

As far as I know the white ones are not the stingy mosquitoes. :)
