i was trying to search and look manually through the old posts to find the date when i first noticed i had arboreal eggs, all i can find is the final post of when they began to hatch, what happened to my old posts and the replies i got from others? do some threads here eventually get deleted? i sort of hoped posts here would be archived somewhere if i ever needed to look up data i may have fuzzy details on now....

No, the posts would not have been deleted unless you posted them in the adverts section.

hmmm, now that i think of it i think i did attach the announcement in that section and got replies via that -is that stuff lost for good -or would john or one of you be able to retrieve it? i got a request for data on breeding them -and i pointed out i didnt do anything they did it all, but i was wondering of the time since noticing the eggs till they hatched and if they had any signs of advanced growth when i found them?

Nate is absolutely right. The advert section has a clear warning that old posts in there are deleted about every three months. Nothing else on the forums is ever deleted unless there's a specific reason for deleting that post or thread. We have messages back to day 1 of the site.

This may change in the near future given how unimaginably massive the forums are (many hundred megabytes, most of which are Tim's photos *G* - please don't stop though Tim!).

Can't say fairer than that.

Hey everyone, just want a little advice. Its 55 - 60 celcius in my Salamanders tank. Hes curled up and tyring ti bury himself, Im assuming hes too cold. I was wondering if he would benefit from a heated rock cave (since he LOVES his cave) that I could set on low? I NEVER see him curled up and trying to bury himself unless his tank sits at 63 degrees celcius or lower. So I am assuming hes a little uncomfortable.

He also seems a little sluggish, again, assuming hes cold. Having heating trouble with the new house right now. What do we think? Was thinking of grabbing this for him since its got very low, medium, and higher medium heat settings that exude heat downward inside the rock cave but ALSO exudes it UPWARDS outside of the rock cave, effectively keeping the tank itself a little warm. Seems like it miiiight be a little small for him though, my guy is about 7 inches from tip of his nose tothe tip of his tail. I also asked this as an actual question in a thread in case anyone wants to answer it there instead of here
