(Me again)

So I just got back from holiday with some friends, leaving little Maurice and Edgar with my family.

Apparently, whilst trying to feed my little one *with a spoon*, she bit the spoon and attacked it so much she floated upside down for about 30 seconds, like she was dead, then came back and tried to eat again.

Just really curious as to what the hell happened and if I need to take her to a vet. She's acting normal apart from that. Just don't want anything horrible to happen.

A spoon?!

Most likely she'll be fine. I've noticed that when startled, my axolotls will dart away extremely fast and then stay still for a while - my guess is this is their way of hiding from a predator: Get away fast and sit very still so it can't see you.

Keep an eye on the little one. If she's eating, behaving, pooping as normal and she has no visible swelling or injury, she's probably fine. Keep checking to make sure nothing develops, if it does, post back here with some pictures and we can advise further. If she has injured herself, you may need to seek a vet's support, but don't worry unnecessarily, they are very hardy creatures.

PS: A SPOON? ;)

I know, when she told me I was just like "are you kidding?"
I feed my babies by hand always, I mean I know some people are squeamish, but a spoon.

Totally OT, but I seriously can't stop laughing trying to picture someone feeding an axie with a spoon.
