Well most of us here on caudata oviously/most likely have some type of newt/salamander.I'm curious to know what else you guys have? What I have is a a red eft(eastern newt),2 marbled newts, white's tree frog, green tree frog,a pair of mealno betta fish, and a teddy bear hamster. All very cool animals and getting a few more animals soon lol.

In addition to four Axies and an A. maculatum, I have
5 dogs
3 horses
1 cat
3 snakes
2 geckos
And a ton of fish! :)

apart from the newts:

2 dogs

1 Pacific Chorus Frog that was given to me after it arrived as a stowaway in a box of veggies. It was a tiny new morph of 1/2 inch or so and has grown to a voracious fly hunter of almost 2 " length since then

a 20 ga planted Walstad-type tropical fish tank with 11 neon tetras, 1 betta, 2 cory cats, 1 oto and 1 siamese algae eater

I used to have an appaloosa horse, but sold him when I moved to where I'm now, where the logistics of keeping a horse are just too forbidding (well, maybe, some day...)

Apart from my 4 Axies I have 5 dogs and a husband lol

I'm keeping Ceratophrys cranwelli (Cranwell's horned frog), Scaphiopus couchii (Couch's spadefoot), Bombina orientalis (Oriental Fire-bellied Toad) apart from my newts. You don't see much people keeping Scaphiopus here in the Netherlands. That's why it's a bit dissapointing that I have 3 women and I can,t seem to get my hands on a male.

Offcourse I'm also keeping newts: Pleurodeles waltl, Triturus dobrogicus, Triturus carnifex, Notophthalmus viridiscens, Ambystoma mavortium (mavortium/diaboli) and axolotls.

My girlfriend also enjoys our 2 cats. Sorry everyone, but cat's aren't my cup of tea. They make her very happy though, so eventually they're making me happy to. ;)

I have my own zoo really. Firstly 5 axolotls, 5 alpine newts, 1 Collie female who is beautiful called" Kiaya" a mixture of eskimo names, 5 Tortoises,7 parrots, and a Ginger Cat ex ferral who lives outside.
I have the best long suffering husband Mike in the world who has seen the family grow over the years.

That's actuly weird how you found your pacific chorus frog but I heard stories how turantulas come in the same way.

Yeah that's cool too. What kind of parrots and tortoises do you have? Also I know how you feel about the feral cat.I had 2 main feral cats that use to live in my backyard and i use to be adble to handle them and they use to follwo me to elementry school lol.I ended up finding a home for them.I think feral cats make better pets then house cats since they seem to appriciate that you give them food, water, shelter and love.

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
