I am attaching photos of a substance which I am trying to identify. Is it urine? It floats on top of the water. Stringy in appearance. Like egg drop soup.

Axolotls don't 'pee'. While your photos are blurry, it looks as if it may be bolus (axolotl vomit).

Thanks for your response. I hope that it is not vomit, but I believe you. If it happens again, I will take better pictures. There are probably many reasons why a juvenile axolotl would vomit. I will check parameters. Open to suggestions or ideas right now.

Check water parameters, including temperature. Have you changed foods? Overfed? It could also be poo, depending on what you're feeding.

I will check water parameters soon. Temperature also, however, here in the pacific northwest it is somewhat temperate. Their water stays within ideal range. They have been eating baby brine shrimp and frozen bloodworms. I stopped feeding the baby brine shrimp recently. I had phased it out while introducing bloodworms. It is possible that I overfed, their bellies get pretty fat after meals.

It could be bloodworm poo. I've never fed bloodworms, so maybe someone else could confirm or deny this.

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
