So I have 3 axolotls and a couple weeks ago they lost their gills because of the water quality. i fixed the water and one of my axolotls are growing their gills back but now he has a rash and an infection. I’m starting to give him tea baths once daily and quarantine him away from my other axolotls. I’m not sure what to do. Or if he will be okay. This is my first time owning them and i’ve been doing my research but i’m not sure what to do from here on.

ensure water is kept cold (around 15°c/59°f)
house in water that contains 100% holtfreters + 0.2g/l magnesium sulphate, also give daily baths in methylene blue + acriflavine.
the holtfreters + magnesium sulphate is to make the water more suitable for healing (also for fungal treatment) whilst the methyline blue + acriflavine is to treat bacterial infections.
due to the redness that your axolotl is displaying vet assistance may be required if methylene blue and acriflavine don't help condition due to possible septicaemia caused by infection, the vet will also test to see if the infection is contagious.

So i live in NY so when i was calling around a few places said that they can’t sell some of those products here.

methylene blue and acriflavine are fish medications which would normally be sold in fish/pet shops, should also be available through pharmacies/chemists and online.
sodium chloride ie.. salt, needs to be non-iodinised, can be marine, light pink himalayan (darker the pink higher the iron content), halite (rock salt)
calcium chloride, used for cheese making and as a ph buffer for pools, should be available through pharmacies/chemists and online.
potassium chloride, used as an electrolyte and a widely prescribed medication, should be available through pharmacies/chemists and online.
bicarbonate of soda ie.. baking soda, widely used as a cooking ingredient, in toothpastes, cleaning, ph buffer, available in small amounts in most general goods stores and larger amounts online.
magnesium sulphate ie.. epsom salt, needs to be unflavoured/unscented ie.. food grade, available in stores, pharmacies/chemists and online.
due to issues caused by misuse during the covid pandemic certain chemicals such as methylene blue may be restricted in some states, in such cases veterinary support is advised.
