I found these little guys in a pond and i was wondering if you guys could help me figure out what they are. I was thinking they are rough skinned newts. Any corrections?

They look more like an Ambystoma species to me. Where in the US are you? Location will help to clinch an ID.

They're either A. gracile or A. mavoritum. My guess is gracile as I think mavoritum is localised in the SE and E of Oregon (though i'm unsure of possible introductions). Are you towards the coastal side of the state?

How long until they morph?

Yes. I could have sworn one of them is a rough skinned though.

I am on the coastal side

How long do you think until they morph. Any other people have comments on the species?

I would make use of Google and see, just enter rough skinned newt larvae and compare photo's.

Ok thanks. I think they might be tigers.
