There is a bit of a lump there but its a bit hard to see properly. I think the black toes indicate the onset of sexual maturity. I think. Someone correct me if im wrong on that tho. My Gold one has black toes and my Olive one has white toes.
i think ur axie is definatley a girl...cause of the roundness of her belly..and because if she was a guy there would be a bigger lump evident in the photos...a 20cm axies is usually big enough to tell what gender they are
I'll chime in and say I vote for Girl. The cloacal lump is not big, and the belly is round. Remember that even females have a small swelling of the cloaca at sexual maturity.
What a beautiful little girl! She seems very happy in her new home. I love the pearl by the way ^.^!
This was how it was with my leopard geckos, is it the same with Axies? When you get a male for the first time you are always surprised at how big their cloaca is, that's when you realize you can never mistake the two!
If the axie is lighter in colour then the towes will go black when its sexualy mature. If the axie is darker in colour then the towes will go white when its sexualy mature.
Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
sorry I am having a hard time trying to upload the pictures- I have them saved on my hard drive... any suggestions-the prompts here are not allowing for downloads that way as far as I can tell. Thanks
