So originally I was going to the LFS to buy a coral and ending up buying a axolotl within 2 minutes of setting foot in the shop :p

This is Taco, my little melanoid. He was just too cute not to snatch up, don't you think? :D

He is already eating some earthworms and pretty happy with his new quarantine tank. He's about 9-10cm and not too sure how old it is.

What a cutie!

He sure doesn't look that old. Three or four months perhaps, at a guess?

Hahah. That would be me if I ever saw axolotls sold in a shop. I wanna be known as the crazy axolotl lady one of these days:D

At my old work there used to be a petshop around the corner. Every second shift I would be in to look at axolotls or buy something for them. Pretty sure they think I'm a crazy axolotl lady. My family definitely thinks so!

I love his wonky gills! One super long one on top and two little ones :D

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

sorry I am having a hard time trying to upload the pictures- I have them saved on my hard drive... any suggestions-the prompts here are not allowing for downloads that way as far as I can tell. Thanks
