Weird sleeping position :S

Hi my axolotl (joey) sleeps on top of my filter, is this normal? hes normally on the bottom of my tank swimming with his brothers but as soon i turn the lights off at night he swims on top of my filter and stays until the morning... he does this most of the nights ill post a pic when i catch him doin it again.

As long as he has no problem getting to the bottom of the tank, it's just a quirk. Sitting on the filter output is a lazy way of moving fresh water past the gills.
