hi, i was just watching my axolotl yesterday and noticed that on one side of his head the gills are longer and more upright than on the other side the gills are limp and short should i be worried or not?
i have a axolotl i saved, on one side of his head when he swims his gills nearly touch his back legs theyre so long but the other side is just normal. i wouldnt worry too much about it. what colour are they? whats the water temp? also have you checked your water parameters? im sure he'll be fine. let us know if anything else develops
my female albino's gills were really short when i got her, not they have started growing again, one of them is normal till about half way up the gill then it just kinda flops over and doesnt stay strait. She doesnt seem to mind, i'd say its nothing to worry about
