I put three of my marms into an aquatic setup, with floating elodea and a bark island. After two days one has gone completely aquatic and the other two have done small incursions, but finally stayed terrestrial. So i finally have one aquatic hehe
It has become darker, a lot darker, and the cloaca has changed a little bit after just two days. It doens´t eat though....i guess it needs time to get used to the new environment

I´ll try with the rest to see if they like the aquatic life too.

The marbled newt baby I had that was the most terrestrial has now become as aquatic as the others. I hardly ever find them on the land anymore. I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that their food is in the water? It's puzzling.

Good for you!

Another two have gone aquatic. That makes half of them aquatic n_n. The two are my favourite one (the brightest and greenest), and the weirdo, the one with a deformity of some kind in it´s back.
The others will end up the same sooner or later...i feel it xD
I´ll post some pics later.
I´m really excited... I can´t believe they are growing so much....

Ok...a couple pics.
First the one that first became aquatic.

My favourite, the most beautiful one and the one that gave me more problems hehe

Finally the "kinked" one...it´s doing good, one of the biggest ones and aquatic....maybe it´s problem is not that serious.

All of them are aquatic now.
They are eating great on frozen bloodworms (except one). The one that was a picky eater when terrestrial and had me worried for months is now the fattest one hehe, it´s the smartest one i think :p
Anyway...i´m so excited...i love watching them swim the whole day :)

Hey everyone, just want a little advice. Its 55 - 60 celcius in my Salamanders tank. Hes curled up and tyring ti bury himself, Im assuming hes too cold. I was wondering if he would benefit from a heated rock cave (since he LOVES his cave) that I could set on low? I NEVER see him curled up and trying to bury himself unless his tank sits at 63 degrees celcius or lower. So I am assuming hes a little uncomfortable.

He also seems a little sluggish, again, assuming hes cold. Having heating trouble with the new house right now. What do we think? Was thinking of grabbing this for him since its got very low, medium, and higher medium heat settings that exude heat downward inside the rock cave but ALSO exudes it UPWARDS outside of the rock cave, effectively keeping the tank itself a little warm. Seems like it miiiight be a little small for him though, my guy is about 7 inches from tip of his nose tothe tip of his tail. I also asked this as an actual question in a thread in case anyone wants to answer it there instead of here
