Weak salamanders

Two of my salamander larvae have been seeming awfully weak lately. I think this is partially due to the aquarium I keep them in, because the air pump a have with it started sucking a couple through it because the sand I had covering it washed away so that they could swim down under it. One of the salamanders got an air bubble in his belly because of this. I removed all the salamanders and fixed it so the pump can't suck them through anymore, but the one that had the air bubble and another one have been flipping upside-down a lot. I think that they might have died by now. I don't know what could have happened other than the pump thing, but if anyone has any ideas about what I could do I would like know.

If I were you I'd remove the air pump entirely. If the poor swimmers are having trouble feeding, you can try raising them in seperate enclosures.

Bad news: the weak salamanders died over the weekend. The rest are still alive and happy though.

Hey everyone, just want a little advice. Its 55 - 60 celcius in my Salamanders tank. Hes curled up and tyring ti bury himself, Im assuming hes too cold. I was wondering if he would benefit from a heated rock cave (since he LOVES his cave) that I could set on low? I NEVER see him curled up and trying to bury himself unless his tank sits at 63 degrees celcius or lower. So I am assuming hes a little uncomfortable.

He also seems a little sluggish, again, assuming hes cold. Having heating trouble with the new house right now. What do we think? Was thinking of grabbing this for him since its got very low, medium, and higher medium heat settings that exude heat downward inside the rock cave but ALSO exudes it UPWARDS outside of the rock cave, effectively keeping the tank itself a little warm. Seems like it miiiight be a little small for him though, my guy is about 7 inches from tip of his nose tothe tip of his tail.
