Hi,

Axolotls won't suffer at such temperatures. they can pass well by temperatures as low as 4°C or a bit less.

I would strive to keep the water above 4°C because that's the boundary where axolotls can start to experience cell damage.

I wouldn't let them at 4°C during the whole winter.
Anyways, I live in a region where the winters are never very cold and the water is between 8 and 10°C most of the time. There usually are 2 to 3 days when I have to break the ice in the morning. Nevertheless, my outdoors animals grow as well as those I keep in my house.

Right now our temp is 70 Farenheit which I think should be around 21 celsius. Our female which I have had for over 18 months is fine. How important is the temp? I am not trying to sound stupid but she seems really happy.
