Hi
I have just done water check on axie tank and they read as follows

PH = 7.6
HIGH RANGE PH = 7.8
AMONIA = 1.0
NITRITE = 5.0
NITRATE = 5.0

I am still trying to find out more about the readings and what they should be so any advice would be gratefully received. :happy:

How long has your tank been up and running? Your ammonia and nitrite should be 0.

Tank has been set up for 3 weeks nearly now. So how do i reduce the readings

if it´s an empty tank (without inhabitants) you may do - nothing. The good bacteria will take their work to reduce the ammonia and nitrite. It will take some weeks until a tank is fully cycled.
But if there are axies or fishes in the tank, you should do 50% water change to reduce the levels and then test the parameters each day by doing eventual water changes, if the levels rises, until your tank is cycled.

Hi yes I have an axie in the tank. What I dont understand is that I have the proper water kit but how do you know when it reads 0 as the bottom reading is not that - am I just being thick here or what??
:confused:

Think I was just being thick as i can now see the 0 reading on the cards!!!!:(
