Has anybody ever had a shimmer on the top of there tank?

I had this so took out my plants (I never put them back in) and did around a 50% water change, now 3 days later it's back.

It kinda like a bluey/yellow shimmer on the top.

My axies seem fine but I'm alittle concerned. :/

Do you have a filter or aerator in the tank? Something that disturbs the surface?

it's an oily film that can build up from a number of reasons. It will clear up by itself if the tank is cycled and has adequate aeration. If you want to remove it quicker u can tear up large squares of newspaper lay it on the surface for a second and peal it off most of the oily stuff should come off with it.

also note that the oily film can be an indication of waste build up so check the ammonia levels.
