We have very hard water here my carbonate hardness is testing at 240 and general at 180
Though my axis seem happy and thriving and all other water conditions are good I'm just curious what is ideal for hardness?

And I know they prefer hard water just wondering if it can be too hard?

Water can't be too hard for axies as long as it's suitable to drink.

Hardness by itself is not a problem for axies, but hard waters often have a high value of pH (8 or more), which could favor the toxic form (NH3) of ammonia.
So it could be useful to test for the pH.

Thank you all so much! My pH is good as of now but I'll make sure to keep an eye on it!
