I have used tetra aquasafe for all my aquatic animals with no problems. The last 2 bottles I bought have a "freebie" attatched to it "Tetra Easybalance".Its supposed to eliminate frequent water changes!Has anybody used this product or have any info on it regarding amphibians? I dont want to use any of it until I know for certain its harmless to my animals. It unfortunately doesnt have any ingredients listed on the bottle.I now have 2x250ml bottles of this stuff!

Can I suggest you ask Tetra, the manufacturers, Cloth?
I contacted Sera, the makers of the dechlorinator Aqutan to see if it was safe to use with amphibians and I was very impressed by the quality of their repsonse / advice.

Thanks Matthew,I checked their site but no joy there,I'll send them an email

I have used that product safely with fish before, since like you, I got a free bottle. But I wouldn't risk it with the amphibians. Water changes are an important part of keeping salamanders/newts healthy no matter how many new products come out.

There are also some reports that dechlorinators are not actually safe (long term) for amphibians. I will see if I can dig up the source.Luckily I am on well water now.
