I just got 2 juvenile axolotls yesterday. They are currently in a divided 10 gallon un-filtered tank.
It was NOT cycled before I put them in there, but the water HAD been treated and sitting for at least 2 days.
They have some anacharis plant in there with them as well.
The person I got them from said about a 1/3 water change every two weeks if they're in an aquarium, but I'm thinking she was assuming it was cycled.
Because it isn't cycled, should I do more water changes? How much and how often?
So far they've been in the tank for about 22 hours. They appear healthy and happy. Eating and pooping as they should be.
Thanks folks!
