Was anyone else a little scared when transitioning their axie baby to a tank? I'm a little anxious about it! :/

Hi all!

So, Audrey is big enough she can go into a tank now. I'm going to buy a 20 gallon long in the next few weeks and will cycle it, etc. before putting her in it. It will be big enough for her and a new friend I'm hoping to get for her when the tank is set up and ready to go. :p

But I'm nervous about it.

Is there a good way to transition her from her large Tupperware container to the tank without stressing her out too badly? I don't know why I'm freaking out about it, but I am!

My little guy looked so lost in his big tank after his tupperware; I just let the tupperware float a while so the temp was ok and then slowly tipped it and let him swim out when he wanted to. He was still for a while then had a good explore. Nothing to worry about really:)

I guess I was more worried about pH/ nitrogen differences, that sort of thing.

Did you introduce any of the cycled aquarium water to the Tupperware first a day or so in advance to equalize them, or is that not usually an issue?

Erm my tanks were next to each other so the temp was the same so that wasnt a problem, i used a large jar with a screw top lid, waited for them to go in it, whilst it was still horrizontal and underwater i put the lid on, the gently picked it up and placed the jar in the new tank, unscrewed the lid and encouraged him out.

However, on sunday i was moving Pinky and The Brain, pinky did this method great and all was well, The Brain however UH OH, as i put my hand in to screw the lid on, he freaked out and did a free willy escape OUT of his tank and it was just by pure luck he dived into his new tank!
I was terrified as if he had gone the other way, he would have splatted on the floor. He didnt just hop, he had his arms and legs and gills streamlined with his body and he just wooshed past and into the new tank :O

However if i was you i would put the tub next to the tank so the temp is the same, then put a lid over the tupperwear and gently place the tub on the waters surface and slowly taking the lid off the tub, tilt the tub so he goes in the water.
