Warm temps

Hi all,
I am new to the forum, so I may be asking some really a nd seemingly idiotic questions.

I keep Dart frogs and so I maintain the temp in the frog room at 21-22 deg C.

What species if any would be best kept at this temp range and are they a good beginners species?

Is the room a steady temperature year round, or is it warmer than that in summer? There are several species that could do fine in that range, though they might appreciate a couple of months at a cooler temperature (and this may be necessary if you want them to breed). The species that come to mind are Cynops pyrrhogaster, Cynops ensicauda, Pleurodeles waltl, Tylototriton verrucosus. The ubiquitous Cynops orientalis would probably do OK, but it would depend on getting healthy ones to start with. Adults and subadults of these species are all easy enough for beginners. Larvae and juveniles would be more of a challenge for some of them.

Whatever you get, be sure to strictly quarantine them from your frog tanks, especially if you get WC animals.

Thanks Jennifer,

21-22 deg C is the base line temp for the room, it can and does get warmer on very hot summer days.
So following your advice I would be better of finding an alternate room with a lower base line temp.
