Here are pictures of my Ambystoma laterale or in other words blue-spotted salamander, very neat little guy, found him in my basement, working on his aquarium, all I have left is the issue of finding moss..lol
But anyways, she took her first worms today, finally!.. She liked crickets..Now its night crawlers, yay..lol There's also a picture of her climing my hand, its kinda blurry sorry about that. stupid camera...

Hope you like them :D

Oh, sorry about the tittle i just noticed that when I saw the post.. sorry..

she looks of good weight-so there is little worry about her resisting new food for a while, she probably was just adjusting. i have had these in the past, they will stay hidden alot-so accept that as usual, and give her lots of places to hide. mine ate both worms and crickets as well, im sure she would take slugs and grubs too.

Yep hope so, do you think I can feed them wax worms? or super worms? or are they to big?

Superworms are probably too big - I try to avoid anything with a hard body as I recently fed some mealworms to my shanjing only to find them fully intact in their feces.

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
