Vitamins and calcium supplements for newt

Hello,

I have an eastern red eft that is doing great on springtails and isopods. I started giving repashy calcium plus a few times a week. Are their other vitamins or extra vitamin A that I should give?

Repashy Calcium Plus is an excellent supplement, I believe it contains everything you would want in terms of nutrition. I regularly use it to dust the fruit flies I feed my newts and salamanders. Your newt should be good on vitamin A because of the eyed food you are feeding it, in addition to the repashy.

If you want to brighten the color of your newt, I would recommend a coloring supplement or something with carotenoids. I have been using Nekton Rep Color about once a month to dust fruit flies for my Laos Warty newts, and their backs are getting more orange-red instead of orange. I haven't used Repashy Superpig, but I have heard good things about it as a coloring supplement.

Isopods are great because they bring calcium.
Moreover, if they live within dead leaves, they also will carry carotenoids from the leaves they eat.
